Understanding a WebRTC check

Learn what browser network candidates can tell you.

The check gathers local WebRTC candidates without a camera, microphone or third-party STUN server. It does not discover a public IP through STUN.

The result applies only to this browser. An empty response, local address or mDNS address does not prove that there are no leaks. Repeat the check before and after connecting.

What the browser tests

WebRTC supports calls and data exchange. The browser may expose different network candidates depending on permissions and settings.

Interpret the result carefully

Compare results with and without the Secure connection. A local or masked address alone does not prove a public IP leak; the check does not cover other apps.
